Paulo Garcia

About Me

Paulo A. Garcia was born in Cali, Colombia in 1983. He received his B.S. in Physics from Randolph-Macon College, Ashland, VA in 2006. From 2006-2007, he was at Benedictine High School in Richmond, VA as the AP/Honors Calculus and Pre-Calculus Teacher. He completed his PhD at the Virginia Tech – Wake Forest University School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences in 2010. His research interests are in irreversible electroporation for intracranial disorders, thermal effects due to pulsed electric fields, and modeling of electroporation for treatment planning. Dr. Garcia received the Virginia Tech Paul E. Torgersen Student Research Excellence Award in 2010 and was the North American Finalist in the Student Paper Competition for EMBS in 2009.
