About Me

I am the Director of the local Education Foundation in Amherst County, Virginia and have worked there for the last 7 years. During that time, I have met so many amazing people within the community who volunteer their time by serving on the Board of Directors. Collaborating with these leaders has given me valuable experience in relationship-building and fundraising techniques. I organize an annual golf tournament, raffle, and luncheon with much help from the Board. I also write grants to secure additional funding and serve on committees that award grants and scholarships to deserving teachers and students. I received my B.A. from James Madison University with a major in English and minor in Economics. This led me to a career in sales and marketing, go figure. I plan to teach one day, as I have recently earned a Master's degree in Special Education from Lynchburg College. I am particularly interested in autism and the lack of opportunities available to young adults with this disability.

I love to travel and have become excellent at planning fun and affordable itineraries. I also enjoy running, yoga, dancing and learning to cook. The most rewarding thing in my life is being a mother of two beautiful girls and wife to my best friend! Together, we manage a "zoo" of three dogs and a cat. I am blessed and life is good!
